“Nos encontramos ante una situación de emergencia civil y vial”, indicó un comunicado oficial, a través del cual se solicita a la comunidad circular con precaución en caso de extrema necesidad y/o urgencia, para evitar posibles accidentes en la vía pública y a los fines de que el equipo de Servicios Públicos junto a Defensa Civil, Tránsito y Bomberos Voluntarios puedan asistir y trabajar de la mejor manera posible.
“Hace muchos años que no caía tanta cantidad de lluvia en tan poco tiempo, sumado a que los suelos están saturados de humedad por lluvias anteriores, la situación es realmente crítica y se ha declarado la Emergencia Civil y Vial en toda la ciudad”, ratificó el intendente Juan Álvarez Pinto.
Agregó que “los trabajos en la vía pública y la asistencia a los vecinos a su vez se complejizan ya que la lluvia fue continua durante toda la mañana y todo indica que continuará por la noche. Las calles de la ciudad han sido destruidas, varios arroyos han desbordado y hay destrozos en toda la vía pública, en tal sentido pedimos precaución y en lo posible evitar la circulación”.
«Todos los recursos locales están abocados a la emergencia, Defensa Civil Municipal, Tránsito, Servicios Públicos, todas las áreas del Municipio, Bomberos Voluntarios, Policía y Edesal entre otros, pero debido a la magnitud de la situación la capacidad de respuesta nos excede, es por ello que se ha solicitado ayuda y colaboración al Gobierno Nacional, Gobierno Provincial, Ejercito Argentino, Fuerza Aérea y Empresas Privadas, indicó el jefe comunal.
Se han asistido a más de 50 familias que han sido afectadas, algunas de ellas se han tenido que evacuar para lo cual se dispusieron hoteles para alojarlos.
El intendente de Merlo agregó: “Me comuniqué personalmente con el Ministro de Obras Publicas de la Nación, Gabriel Katopodis, quien se puso a disposición y en las próximas horas estarán llegando maquinarias de Vialidad Nacional para colaborar con el acondicionamiento de calles, encauzamiento de arroyos y trabajos en general. Dicha asistencia será realizada en coordinación con Vialidad Provincial”.
Empresas privadas también se han puesto a disposición de la comunidad merlina, dichas maquinarias ya están trabajando en coordinación con la Secretaria de Servicios Públicos.
“Desde el Ministerio de Seguridad de la Provincia nos informaron que está llegando a la ciudad parte del Equipo de San Luis Solidario y Guardia Vial. En las próximas horas y días habrá mucha maquinaria y equipos trabajando en la vía pública, les pedimos a todos circular con precaución y respetando las indicaciones”, resumió Álvarez Pinto.
Hacia el mediodía comenzó a llegar la asistencia del gobierno provincial, a través de distintas áreas. También se ha hecho un llamado solidario a la comunidad, para que colabore con elementos de limpieza, colchones y frazadas, agua, entre otros elementos.
Esta tarde, el jefe comunal informó que la Agrupación de Artillería de Campaña 601 del Ejército Argentino, con asiento en la ciudad de San Luis, ya se encuentra en viaje hacia la Villa de Merlo.
“Quiero agradecer en el nombre del Jefe de la guarnición, Coronel Gustavo Chineno, a todo el personal militar que viene a colaborar con el municipio y al Ejército Argentino en general ante esta difícil situación que estamos atravesando”.
